Superchunk its defo native cos in emus like PCSX2 and Dolphin you have the option of rendering the game at native res and upscaling to 1080P and the image looks alot more blury then if you set the emu to native 1080P.

I'm probably misreading what you wrote, but the bolded says you have two options to me.

  1. play game at native
  2. play game upscaled to 1080p
That to me is an OR scenario, not AND.

I think it is upscaled to 1080p in which I mean the same way you can take an old pc game like say the original far cry and amp the resolution up to whatever level you like on a newer pc, the game looks cleaner but the textures are still blurry because it is just an up res, and the polygons look more pronounced and blocky because the lower resolution is not there to hide the low poly count.

To do native 1080p i think you would need to redo the texture assets if it was not made for that resolution.

If that is not the case then all this talk of native 1080p games was just pure bull then.

Guys, native 1080p has absolutely nothing to do with the assets/textures.  It's all in how the lines between vertices are rendered.  Nothing more.  Emulators have had the ability to render games in whatever native resolution your monitor and CPU/GPU could handle for a while now.  I've been playing 1080p PS1 games for years. The assets are the same old ones from 15-20 years ago, but the game is in full blown 1080p (full screen, obviously, and it was actually 1200p when I had my old CRT). Same thing with PS2 games and Wii games in recent years as emulators and processing power have caught up.
