I just realised I didn't finish the best game ever

No, of course don't play with the worst VC version. 

Why you don't play the Gamecube 480p version? It's perfectly identical but the image quality is better at 480p so it's HD-ish.

It was in the Legend of Zelda collector edition and was also bundled with mario kart double dash you can probably find it on ebay.

If you play it on a Wii (gamecube compatible), you'll get a very good image quality and the game plays really great on a Wavebird pad.

 

I think I have maybe 3 copies of the gamecube version,  somewhere...
