@carl2291...Your post states playstation has sold more consoles which is true but you failed to mention Nintendo sold the most software (nintendo 4billion >Sony and Microsoft )just saying and if you wanna argue well that nintendo been out longer ...compare nintendo 64,GameCube ,wii and wii u (in which Sony playstation 1,2,3,4 ) had been out the same time (nintendo software 1.4 billion software units sold>Sony and Microsoft ) my point is don't get too caught up in hardware sales because as you can see even though more people owned more Sony playstations more people bought more software for Nintendos products ...just saying ...which shows why nintendo is not in aany debt because software is where the most money is made not hardware ...so nintendo in my opinion is far more revelant than Sony or Microsoft as you said numbers don't lie lol....jay70sgamer

How many of those PS2 sold were unique users & not the same dude buying his 4th PS2 because they were crap & barely lasted till the end of warranty??? 150M PS2 sold =/= 150M console players!

You could say there are more console players as you dont have to own a console to actually play it or the fact that, as home consoles, you have many people in a house that are potential players
Anyway, this could be said about any console, but, looking at your postws, I think you are overreacting to this topic in general

In fact, game attach rate was pretty similar for PS2, Xbox and GC : about 10 games per console sold. It's very hard to think than PS2 could achieve such an attach rate with a very different and higher failure rate. Anyway, Sony sold 150 millions PS2 and the market value they owned was very consistent with this 150 millions console market, which, I think, is the point.
