I'd say the PS4 and X1's controller are pretty much equal in their quality. I prefer the D4 by a slight amount, but that's purely because i prefer the side by side stick placement.
Ignoring my personal preference for the thumb stick placement, i still think the 360's controller was the best overall. Was a bit disappointed with the X1's controller compared to it, other than the triggers everything they changed seemed to make it slightly worse rather than better.
That all said, the PS4's controller is a huuuuuuge step up from the PS3's. It shows how good the original design was that they managed to span it across three gens, but i'm glad we've moved on.
