Bought the 3DS on launch day, was second in line, and my local store got two 3DS's of each color (2 Aqua Blue and 2 Cosmo Black, and the woman in front of me also chose a blue. So I consider myself lucky, even though that old 3DS is in a little bad shape today. I bought Pilotwings Resort along with it, actually a pretty fun game. Last year I bought a white 3DS XL, that was even better.
But I don't feel the purchase was fully justified until 2013 when Luigi's Mansion 2 was released, SM3DLand wasn't as big as SM64DS, a seven year older game, and MK7 hadn't as many features as MKDS, so I was a little disappointed in both at first, even though I've been playing them more and more. Now I like them both for what they are.
Pokémon was the primary reason I bought a 3DS for, knowing that a 3DS generation was obviously coming, but I think LM2 is my favorite 3DS game actually, together with A Link Between Worlds. Finished that one four times already, and that must mean something. But LM2 has such a fun multiplayer that I play it just as much. Pokémon X was great but I think it had just a little post game content. The detective part was great though, didn't hear of it until a few weeks ago, so that was a pleasant surprise.
But yeah, the 3DS is now a great console, with many fun features and most importantly, games you can't play anywhere else.
Yep.
