Maybe the church isn't in it for the money but that they don't want to be associated with a violent game? Some people still do things based on morals.
In addition, I don't know why everybody here doesn't think they have a case. I used to love the Nascar games that Sierra put on (Nascar Racing 1, 2, 3 , 99, etc.) and they didn't have Indianapolis speedway in most games because they couldn't get the rights to the track. I really don't see how this is any different.
