They are not dumb. They wouldn't be releasing exclusives on the Xbox if they weren't being paid a decent amount of money from Microsoft. Enough money to justify not releasing it to a much, much bigger audience base.

It's also about the japanese not buying it and losing interest in home consoles. They are on a good way after the ps3. they need great games on a console that they buy this gen

Japan's economy isn't in it's healthiest state at the moment; it's not just an issue of a shrinking market. Keeping publishers in business is a good thing. Maybe those games won't be successful over there, but they might find success with western audiences-- and that is good for the Japanese video game industry.

So is EU economy and a lot more economies.
Japan actually had it a lot better than eu or us after 2008
