Uh, what? Ryse isn't 1080p but it sure as hell looks like a generation leap over PS3/360. Killzone 6 MP isn't 1080p but I would bet you can tell its advanced quite a bit graphically if you put it next to Killzone 3. Your example, Battlefield 4, might not be 1080p, but its advanced enough to support 64 players, huge maps, and 60fps on consoles. But I guess that's not advanced enough since it's only 900p or whatever.
The problem isn't "LOL u dont want any advanced graphics????//". The problem is it has become this:
Even the BF you speak of, the PS4 box says 1080p on the back. It's become a stupid number to be thrown out to appease people who can't even tell the difference themselves, yet will use that 1080p sticker to make sure everyone else knows their game is superior and really next gen, and your game sucks because it doesn't hit this magical number.
It started out as a small annoyance but now thanks to awesome next gen games and the KZ6 lulz, it's become something that makes me pity gamers who emphasize such an irrelevant aspect of a game.
