I watched a movie called Brave one.It didn't have crazy visual effects but I easily could see the difference with the DVD. All of my family enjoyed the quality, even my mom said wow and she's not into high tech stuff.
My conclusion: TV makes worlds of difference Blu ray movie impressed me

I agree completely. I didn't think that HD made much of a difference until I truly witnessed it hooked up right on a good tv. Lol, when I first got my ps3, I had it hooked up with S-video cable to a SD tv....thought it was just fine and there was no need for HD.
I was a fool. I took my ps3 over to a buddies house. He had a 60" Sony SXRD 1080p and 5.1 surround sound. He hooked up my ps3 with HDMI, and we watched a blu-ray. I was honestly AMAZED. I bought an HDMI cable and the exact same tv, one week later--I'll buy the stereo later this year.
It was worth every damn penny--and more.
Even the movie theatre doesn't rival the experience...especially when you take into account the little kid crying behind you, or the seven foot ogre sitting in front of you, or the sick person sitting beside you hacking on your popcorn. Lol, I hate movie theaters...too many damn annoying strangers that I hate :)
