It's too subjective for me :/ For example if something is a new IP (such as TLOU) i expect it to get a slightly higher score compared to a sequel of equal quality, so i see it's scores differently. People complain about reviewers claiming a game to be better than it's predecessors, yet give it the same or lower score, but that's just how things are. When you have something to directly compare it to your opinion becomes much more focused on not just the game, but of how it compares to your previous experience with it. That tends to make people focus much more on the things is does wrong or as bad as it's predecessor than what it does better.
