Simple question, difficult answer. With the recent metacritic reviews coming in Infamous Second Son has an average of 81; or a flop by AAA game standards. Where did Sucker Punch go wrong? It's obvious that the 54 critics on metacritic all agreed with one thing: The story sucks.

It's a shame really. But I guess with Titanfall failing to be a great game with a score of 90+, we should have expected this. The next gen simply isn't very next gen if it can't even produce 90+ games on Metacritic because as we all know; great games must have at least a 90+ score to be great.

Put simply: Infamous: Second Son is a flop; as is Titanfall. I guess we're still waiting for the first truely "next gen game".

Discuss why Infamous is a flop in your opinion.

*Disclaimer: I have not played infamous nor Titanfall. I am simply assuming they are bad games based on their subpar 90 meta-scores as most gamers should*

since when is anything under a 80 a flop?  it seesm that all the reviews that knocked it are just upset that it plays the same as other Infamous games, which to me is a plus, those games were fun heres a quote from one of the reviews that scored it a 60 "The graphics are a great advert for the power of the PlayStation 4, but in terms of gameplay and story this hasn’t moved on at all from the previous generation."   i dont know what they wanted its a Infamous game it has a certain play style and if they changed that so dramatically it probably would have played horrible.  I just think people are expecting to much out of the new gen and are being let down in that respect.

BTW i dont think reviews can make a game be considered a flop, its sales that do that if you ask me.

I think the bigger issue is that reviewers somehow expected them to reinvent the gameplay, from a game that did pretty well through 1-2.  Clearly it's fans enjoyed the gameplay, and to switch that up could turn the franchise off to them.  As long as they refined the gameplay from 1-2, I'm happy...just like they refined many aspects of gameplay from 1 to 2 (some of the parkour aspects, when climbing up walls for example...the game could freak out and send you in directions you absolutely didn't intend).
