Time is working both for and against Sony: components initial price will get lower the longer Sony will wait, but Sony also wants to be the first to offer it as mainstream tech, it will have to find a compromise, and probably at launch it will be profitable only adding one or two SW sales for each device sold. Luckily for Sony, the high tech involved in it is already, or it's fast becoming, cheap enough, but there are other challenges, the most important of which being that design and materials must still evolve a lot to offer sufficient comfort of use to appeal not only to geeks and tech enthusiasts, but average people too.
