Sony's biggest hope to counteract this bad situation (weak US dollars) is the PAL regions because of their strong currencies. Will Sony cut the PS3 price ONLY in Europe like Microsoft? I don't think it is likely to happen. PS3 is no Xbox360 in NA and Sony cannot afford to piss off NA customers.

Thank you for being objective. Current US buyers already have received a major price cut due to currency. For a $399 price point, Sony receives nearly 8000 yen less compared to last year due to currency alone. That's almost an $80 price cut. |
So I guess according to Joe there will be no PS3 price cut in the near future.
