Isn't resolution for this headset teh same resolution as KZ mp per eye which is really not 1080p like Occulus rift is.

Both Project Morpheus and DK2 are 960X1080 per eye (same numbers as KZ, but completely different thing). Technically the PM screen is higher res since the DK2 screen only has two colors per pixel instead of three. However DK2 is an OLED screen which causes it to look better in other aspects of VR.

How can DK2 be 2 colors per pixel? Do you mean RG,BR,GB pairings? How can you get uniform grey level with that weird setup?
And basically that still is 1280 full pixels.

It is basically the same resolution as PM's screen, but I still think it's worth noting.

Ah, now I understand that OR simulator better. http://vr.mkeblx.net/oculus-sim/

Doesn't look like a good choice from something you're going to blow up to giant screen size.

So what is the actual pixel count horizontally:
2880x1080 green pixels, 1440x540 red and blue.  Same total elements as regular 1920x1080 RGB
2560x1080 green pixels, 1280x540 red and blue.  Same total elements as regular 1706x1080 RGB
1920x1080 green pixels, 960x540 red and blue.    Same total elements as regular 1280x1080 RGB

Shady stuff.

Nm figured it out, 1920x1080 for green + 1920x540 / 960x1080 for red and blue (they alternate, it's half of 1920x1080 for red and blue)
In total 4.1 million sub pixels, instead of 6.2 million for RGB.
