well, if something works, everyone with common sense will do the same (or better). Nintendo dont, and thats why people seems to label Nintendo as the savior of the industry, cuz innovation > everything else (innovation = being different in ths industry). Thats why online gaming means nothing when it comes to innovation (cuz ps3 have psn), same with blu-ray and probably with VR cuz every console will be able to use this tecnology (except for wii u, which is a plus).
Also, a piece of hardware is way more prominent than features in the human psique, so of course most people gonna vote for a piece of plastic
