Microsoft pioneered online gaming on consoles, though you could argue it was going in that direction anyway. Nintendo's innovation's barely survive past 1 generation, but they possibly in some instances act as a catalyst to other innovations. I don't really see blu-ray as an innovation by Sony, more of a natural progression. It's just more storage. I don't think any of these company's have been particularly innovative, I think if you replaced any of them the industry as a whole would be largely the same and be headed in a very similar direction. Online services on consoles would have emerged without Microsoft, just a little later, motion controls are dead anyway, and have been done/would have been done anyway, we'd still have hardware pioneers without Sony. None of these companies are pioneering the VR-revival which is the next big thing.
