Again, this isn't even totally about quality of games: both of those games got very good reviews, with Metroid Prime being put in the top 10 games in history by MetaCritic. It's about objective reality against what you personally prefer.

Do you love love love Metroid Prime? No problem! Just recognize that not everyone else does, as the sales verify.


God of War is the worst franchise for this. People rant and rave about the game but GoW and GoWII combined have sold approximately the same amount of units as the FIRST Devil May Cry.

You may love the game, it may be great, but be realistic about it. It's not a huge seller. It sold KOTOR numbers on a system with 100 million sold, for crying out loud.
