Take this news for instance, the health of the parent company isn't going to reflect on Xbone, if Xbone does badly is nothing stopping MS from dropping it.  Unless we hear PS4/Xbone is doing good/bad or that something is directly affecting them it is all worthless info to a gamer.  Sony losing money on TVs isn't news a gamer should care about, TVs aren't going to end Playstation.

Well they can. TV loss is still a  loss for Sony. Too big of a loss will be the end of Sony and therefore potentially the end of Playstation.
