In your world it was a failure but here in North America it was a pretty good success and Halo 2 was actually the first game to have a midnight release.  Wheter one console is a failure or not has do a lot with where you live the Saturn is considered a failure by most people but in Japan it actually did decent numbers it even outsold the N64.  The SMS was a huge failure compared to the NES in North America but in South America and Europe it actually did pretty decent against the NES.

If you equate getting scraps from the PS2 to being a pretty good success then we have some issues here. Where you live doesn't matter, all that matters is the general reception and even in it's best territory it was a failure much like the gamecube. Once again there is no denying the fact that the original xbox all in all just flopped.

Sure it flopped in the UK but here in the US it was actually a big deal again do some research on Halo 2 it was huge over here again it was the first game to have a midnight release.  Don't believe me watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9am6fMBhtfg the launch of that game was even featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Whether or not Halo 2 was bigger than any gamecube game or the fact that it had scraps from the PS2 makes no difference in the end. They were both just as big of failures. Having scraps in one region meant nothing if it was a flop in total.

"How can one even claim that original xbox did "much better" than the gamecube when it's market share was just as big as the gamecube while producing a 6 billion dollar loss IN TOTAL." - A Sean Malstrom thought ...
