End of this gen/starting of new gen I was not too satisfied with a model of gaming in some genres.
Just think - you buy COD each year to get basically the same game with a new campaign, some new game modes and twicks and thats all. Same goes with sport games, and some other genres.
And I looked on the SF4 of capcom. Thru the generation it come thru several iterations, basically still the same game, but bigger and better, with final ultimate edition this year. You can buy the game or you can 'upgrade; it like DLC - its up to you.
And i thought that for some genres this could be a perfect fit!
Just imagine COD game you buy 1 time in the start of generation. And then each year update it to a new version with more and more content. With customers base to stay the same, and only increasing thru generation. Fifa game where you each year buy roster updates/new leagues/some small gameplay improvements. WWE games with wrestlers roster updating and improving each year, with news types of matches, new moves etc. GT game where you buy it start of generation and in the end of generation you get a jaggernaught with a HUGE amount of content, races, tracks and cars.
What do you think of this Idea?
