Because the console is selling very well. SO well they are having problems keeping them in stock. Supply and demand plays a part in the equation as well. When and if this price increase drives console sales into the dirt they will drop the price again to match sales. It sucks they increased the price for Canadians but if they will still buy it why would Sony be obliged to lower the price?
