Everything is true, I have stated many times over that I would not buy an xbox one if it was the only console available, I would just keep playing my old games (I have a couple of retro consoles + games... along my PS3/4 and gaming PC).
However as a counter point to the last paragraph, early on the 360's life it really did offer a better package and some benefits, so foregoing the extra costs was worth it to many people, they had redeeming qualities... which is something they don't have much of compared to the PS4 (someone will come to remind us how amasing Kinect 2 is... it may be amazing, but it's useless).
Now anyway, the PS4 is leading, so hopefully people will follow the right leader (I really think Sony is on a good streak).
