Many business employ such devious tactics.

But what im surprised is that unlike any other industry, anti-consumer policies in the games indsutry are damage controlled by consumers themselves. It hurts my mind thinking about why people would do it.

People defended DRM, people defend games ditching SP but charging the same price as other games with SP and better MP, and last week I even came across one guy saying MS' parity clause doesnt affect consumers (WTF!)

I'm glad though that the majority of word of mouth is factual and does not use stupid logic. It needs to keep going though to make sure all "soccer moms" and "softball dads" know what they are spending money on and where it will be invested in the future.

Yes.  The consumer defends fucked up stuff from their company of choice.  All of the fanbases have those who do it and I don't know why.  And while they're defending their console of choice, they're condemning everybody else for doing the same thing their favorite company has done/is doing.

Nintendo fans will defend having to pay mulitiple times to play the exact same digital game they purchased on another console that they own.  They'll defend not being able to connect to the internet (Because SSBB was meant to be played on the couch with friends!).  They'll defend peripherals that don't get supported.

Sony fans will defend when their online is hacked and they have to change their passwords to all of their email accounts.  They'll defend when a console launches without built in rumble in the controller.  They'll attack another company until their company does the same thing.  Then, they'll praise it.

Microsoft fans will defend being forced to buy a peripheral that they may or may not have wanted.  They'll defend a controller that still uses AA batteries.

Yes, I'm generalizing.  Not every one does this. But I've seen it happen from members of all fanbases.  Drives me crazy sometimes.  I sit here and I see M$ fans lie to Sony fans, Sony fans lie to Nintendo fans, and Nintendo fans lie to M$ fans--and every variation in between.
