In regards of milking, I don't consider XIII milked. Is the character Lightning overused? Yes, but the XIII saga isn't. There's one game every two years, and they're all different from each other especially the last one.
If you want a JRPG series that's milked, look at the Tales of series. ..and Persona 4. There's a tales game every 9 months with similar battle systems, and Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out in which the original is barely a few months old.
