We're comparing complete populations, not samples. Nothing is being estimated and there is no margin of error to mitigate with a larger sample size because no larger sample is possible.
Console gaming is following in the footsteps of comic books. Once an industry for everybody, then an industry targeting children, now an industry targeting twentyish to thirtyish males. And like comics, console gaming may have just as much difficulty staying fresh and relevant as decline sets in.
