Sniping should be hard. When COD got really fast paced, they need to allow quick scoping to keep snipers happy. In reality, marathon / lighweight doesn't exist on a real battlefield, and sightlines can be miles long. Unfortunately, titanfall is too fast paced for snipers. And battlefields in titanfall are too large for pistols and shotguns. My 2 cents. |
The thing is, this ISN'T real life. In real life, your health doesn't regenerate, and you can't hop off of walls or jump into a giant 20 foot mech. When I play a video game, I don't expect it to be true to life. I prefer a more balanced field in which all the weapons are fun to try out and have their own pros and cons. Literally, the carbine is the only weapon people use, and it's for good reason- the weapon is simply the best in every category with the exception of point-blank range. No other weapons, not even the 3 round burst or the LMG, come close to the effetiveness of the carbine. Sniping is useless in this game- even the most skilled snipers won't snipe, because the game is just too fast paced, spread out, and with only 6 enemy players (half of which will probably be in titans, so more like 3) it's hard to find a decent target. I don't want it to be like COD, but seriously if you're going to have 10 primary weapons, don't make it so that only two or three are any good. It makes it so that there's less diversity overall, as every enemy player uses the same play style and weapon.
A suggestion for fixing sniping (and I'm probably gonna be hated for this) is making it like the smart pistol. Have a small reticule area that you can keep locked on to an enemy player for 3 or 4 seconds, and then fire a bullet that will home in on the target. It will solve the problem of sniping in such a chaotic environment.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
