Hard to tell really. Much of the game's sales were probably digital, the physical version was exclusive to certain retailers until recently when it saw a full release (we'll be seeing the sales from the release in more retailers on last week's numbers, I know it was ranked decently on Amazon leading up to it's release there on Mar 3). They might be over 200k sold now between physical and digital (360 + X1), and I'm sure alot of people are waiting on a lower price, even at $40 it's still too expensive for what you get, they should get decent sales lifetime once they drop down to $30 and then $20. I feel like they should make back their budget and make some profit from it, the budget can't have been too high, it was a smaller developer and the game had next to no marketing. I guess we'll have to wait and see, if they announce DLC soon it was probably successful to them.

I too would like to see more sims and RTS games on consoles. I have high hopes for RTS games right now, Phil Spencer recently mentioned that they're doing some concept work on a new Age of Empires, nothing concrete yet, but with any luck they'll make and release it on both Xbox One and PC. If that goes well hopefully we'll see another Halo Wars on X1 as well, Phil Spencer has also said that they're considering branching Halo out into other game genres again.

I actually haven't played Zoo Tycoon yet, though I plan to once it drops down to like $20. I was pretty dissapointed with the lack of simulation features, but I've heard it's alot of fun.

Hmm.  Well, I can't comment on digital figures because as far as I know we don't have any concrete figures for them?  Could be high, could be low.  I have trouble believing that they'd be 1:1 with retail sales though.  That's quite a stretch, even in this day and age.

The game could've done with some marketing, but more than anything I think it's a bit underwhelming just because it's a launch title.  That's a lot of free marketing right there - people are picking up a new console they're excited for and often pick up games they wouldn't otherwise get to play on it.

New Age of Empires sounds awesome, but I'm gonna be cautious about that one after AoE online and Microsoft's focus.  If it were a PC/XB1 title I could see it being pretty good, but it could equally be some Windows Phone game at this point.  MS don't seem to have a particularly large interest in the PC market.

I'm just happy stuff like Tropico is still coming to consoles.  The fact 3 & 4 didn't come to PS3 but did come to 360 is still a blow for me - I really enjoyed those games on PC, but would've liked to have tried them on consoles.  Maybe down the line if I pick up a 360 for cheap :P
