John Smedley is hardly an authority on anything. He isn't particularly bright, and he sure as hell isn't trustworthy. Anyone who has played a Sony Online Entertainment game in recent history can tell you that. His job is merely to buy things and run them right into the ground. However before you hit the ground he is good at fishing change out of your pockets.
Plain and simple the man is a disreputable imbecile. Obviously Kaz hasn't gotten a gag on John yet. He has a way of talking himself into trouble and anyone around him by proxy. He obviously implied it if he did not say so directly. The problem is that he is going to get thick headed real fast, and think now that he is on the inside that the PS3 is his personal playground.
That isn't the smartest of things to do or think. You do not want to chase away third party developers, and you definitely don't want to imply to Blizzard that your going to use the parent companies console to bury them. That is the kind of thing that will make them give porting to the 360 some serious thought. No reason to alienate anyone especially one of the biggest third party developers in the world.
