Some people like to play games in a series one after the other, while others like to play one and then wait a few weeks or months to play the next. If you are the former, I would definitely say Uncharted. It is one of the best trilogies of all time and a must play for someone like yourself who likes third person action. Just bare in mind if you play Uncharted that the first one, while still a good game, is the weakest in the trilogy, and 2 & 3 are a massive step up in quality. |
I tend to play only one game then move on. I actually rarely play sequels. I've only played the first God Of War, the first Mass Effect, the first Gears Of War, and Demon's Souls but neither Dark Souls games. Sequels are something I rarely involve myself in, but it's hard not to now as every game coming out is a sequel and I hate starting franchises in the middle.
There are some franchise I follow. The old Tomb Raider games, the Ratchet & Clank series, the Devil May Cry series... but I prefer new IPs.

I have a scary backlog actually - http://www.backloggery.com/TornadoCreator - This doesn't include my PS2, GameCube, or original Xbox games that I have in storage, probably an extra 100 games in total; more than half of which I've not finished, about 1 in 3 I've not ever started. It's actually quite infuriating as I don't want to be the kind of person who just collects discs, I want to collect games; games I actually play.
