Dragon Age Origins is a great game, best played on the PC. On consoles it's worse simply because the retarded AI and no way to control them properly without constant switching back and forth because of the lack of an overhead view and mouse/keyboard control. Worse doesn't mean they suck though. I played through the PS3 version which is a pretty terrible port, but still made my way all the way through the game. It's a really good game. The only issues with it is how overpowered magic is and the cool down time and slow attack time.
I think the second game actually fixed a lot of issues in terms of combat, even if they did make it more like an action game. Magic and attack are both pretty well balanced in that game. There's much better customization for your characters skills compared to the first game. The part about the second game that sucks is the extremely small world, long load times on consoles(didn't play this one on PC,) and the constant backtracking and doing missions in the same areas over and over and over and over.
Dragon Age Inquisition looks to have the larger world of Dragon Age Origins back, except now it looks like it's fully open world. Combat looks like a slightly slower Dragon Age 2, so still a bit action oriented but I liked that way better, so long as the AI is decent unlike the first games AI.
