are you sure about that? the Prime series ended nicely and with a positive note meaning the chance of a future release of a game with the same gameplay style/another Prime game is higher, and the game ended up as the 3rd best selling entry in the Metroid franchise, while Other M somewhat underperformed and the backlash from the game may have given Nintendo the impression that people don't want Metroid which could doom the series to another hiatus.
