You're absolutely correct, but what determines fast?
With the Xbox 360 you navigated to one of multiple views, then selected an application. With Xbox One, you navigate to one of mutliple views and you select an application.
The difference is that with the Xbox One you can potentially snap that app, then open a second app, or a third, or a fourth.
With Kinect, if you want to watch a show you regularly watch, you can say Xbox "Show name", so long as you pin the show to your Pins. You dont' have to navigate to any view. You don't have to open any application. If you've pinned Netflix while watching that show, the app will open right up.
You can't duplicate that speed with gestures, touch, or a controller. You can get close to it. You might even be able to improve the way it is right now, but
you won't ever be as fast as voice commands are currently or will be in the long term.
