How do you know it would be a bad investment ? If they can't internally produce enough exclusives, seems like reasonable business sense to get them from third-parties in order to boost the value of their console. It all depends on how much they pay to get exclusivity in relation to extra console sales it generates. As an example, although it's a tad early to tell, buying Titanfall's exclusivity seems pretty key in order to save the Xbox One from general apathy at this point.
