There is a lot more to Virtual Reality than just videogames. Its applications can also be used for Movies, television, medicine, military, and even aeronautics. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the amount of research Sony put into this or the brainpower behind it. But really I'm not looking for an Oculus Rift. If Sony can make something sleek and attractive and for a reasonable price, then it has a lot more potential to be successful than the Oculus Rift.
