For now, VR is not a thing that the general public is interested.
Tech companies have been trying to introduce this feature for more than 20 years. I don´t think people are interested in a "sensorial overload" when playing or whatching TV.
I for exemple, play to relax and enjoy a free time.
Sony is right in not pushing that to hard into its devepers teams, but that´s the same risk of a Kinect 360 effect, when part of the user base was segregrated from the feature/device.
