Which they had the gall to sell for $40, if I remember correctly! And which, being the sucker I am, I bought at full price! I would have paid that much for a port of Secret of Mana, too, but they were more interested in bringing that to iOS. It will be interesting to see how companies like Square and Capcom fare with their heavy investment in mobile. The profit margins may be good, but in the absence of a Puzzle & Dragons type mega hit it doesn't seem like the revenue is enough to sustain companies of their size. And even then if they should manage to succeed, there's the time bubble Nintendo has always warned about once you've trained consumers to think that games are free and disposable entertainment. It all seems so horribly shortsighted. |
Yeah, it was a full price (40€) title here in europe too .
My wet handheld-fanboy fantasy is that the likes of Squeenix and Capcom will leave this western "cut throat / AAA or bust / all or nithing (nothing means mobile shovelware in this context" approach behind and get back to DS and PSP era third party support....which obviously won´t happen...
And the bolded is so true...
...oh man, now I´m depressed....I guess we can always count on Compile Heart to deliver...something....
:/
