Gears and Uncharted took a year or two to get released. This gen has only just started but the likes of Battlefield 4 (when it's working, lol) and Killzone Shadowfall are a pretty good showcase at present. Titanfall on the other hand is running on an updated version of the Source engine originally used in Half-Life 2 and Counterstrike: Source, so there's only so far they can push it in time for deadline day. From what I understand, with Source it's generally harder to get the the same performance and effects as some of the more advanced engines like Cryengine 3 or UE4. |
