I sort of loathe both extreme ends of the spectrum these days. Cheap, half-assed indie games with low replayability for being cheap and half-assed with low replayability, and huge AAA blockbusters for having stupidly bloated budgets and thus having unrealistic sales goals and being scared shitless of experimenting with anything conceptually exciting. Obviously there are exceptions (like Bioshock, Portal and the Arkham games on one end, and Banished, Castle Crashers and The Binding of Isaac on the other), but for me, middle-class games are where it's really at. (of course, games like that pretty much Critically Endangered outside of Steam nowadays.)
