How is the pokemon variations a bad thing? It is the same game with slight variation of the story and final character. It allows families and friends to have a slight differentiation between themselves and its pretty much wholly a unique user sale. I have two kids and regardless if pokemon didnt' have X vs Y, I'd still buy two copies. This way I get to slightly distinct copies. Kind of like differ color options on buying a 3DS in the first place. Naughty Dog is one example of a very rare breed. |
DLC offers more than the 'slight variations' and it costs less than having to buy the whole game again.
I do still agree with you though, a lot of DLC packs are ripping off customers, but when they are on sale a lot of them are worth it.
I partially agree with you about the online service as well. I fully understand how it can be a bad thing for someone who doesnt game too much, but personally, PS+ has saved me hundreds of pounds on games (even if we assume pre-owned game prices, not new or digital).
I really hope games with gold catches up, and that one day nintendo can offer a similar service (preferably optional)
