Our dollar buys around 90US cents...but we also pay a premium of say 10-20% on US prices as standard, sometimes more.  So call it about 75-80US cents...it is also possible I am looking at the OC model and it could be the most expensive...

Ok, yeah you won't need the OC model and honestly you don't have to get that MOBA but the OC version is significantly more expensive than the standard Z87. I was mostly recommending it as I have one in my rig now and its excellent. That being said there are other good alternatives, are there any special things your looking for in yours or just something basic to get you up and playing.

Nothing special beyond the ability to keep pace with most PC games (preferably looking really good at 1080p for at least the first year).

It would be nice, assuming I take well to constructing my own PC, to have some upgrade options over the next few years that allow me to change a component here or there without having to rebuild the whole thing.
