Actually, from examining the charts, it doesn't appear the PS3 IS selling better at this point in it's life than the 360 was. There is precisely one section of the graphs that clearly favors the PS3 -- the first two to three weeks after launch for each respective system. From what I can tell (and as others have noticed, it's difficult to be precise since the launch alignments are slightly boinked), the PS3 sold 200,000+ more units during its first three weeks than the 360 did (almost 700,000 for the PS3, and perhaps 400,000 for the 360). After that, the PS3 went in line with 360 sales. It's actually possible (again, based purely on eyeballing) that the PS3 is now selling less well than the 360 did at this point in its life: it's still riding that 200,000+ cushion it recieved upon its release.
