Nope. Games are still not taking on DX11 very well, nor any game engines, so it will be years if ever it is taken on board.

DX11 hasn't really taken off because most devs just port their games from consoles to PC, making no use of the extra features that DX11 brings over DX9.

With the new gen of consoles, and with the XboxOne supporting it, we'll see how DX9 fades away and DX11/12 become the norm.

I do agree that DX11 will be the norm, but seeing that the PS4 only does mantle and DX11, and is the better selling console, I think that will set presidence over which will be used. Plus no news from gpu firms on DX12.

Well, I do hope DX11 is more used than 12 as I won't have to upgrade my OS to keep playing.

As for GPUs, I will depend on MSoft. If DX12 is basically a new API without new hardware requirements then there won't be a problem. If it demands some hardware tweaks, then they would have had to tell AMD and Nvidia about them with enough time to allow those changes to be added into their designs. And I think MSoft is still smart enough to have done it.
