Meh. I haven't played The Last of Us yet, but based on what I know about it, it won't be anything special. The crew on it is competent, to be sure, but TLOU in an awkward middle ground. It's too complex a premise to set it up as a simple summer blockbuster, but by the same token the critical crowd is really, REALLY jaded and will just say it's a "nice try" to make a zombie movie unique that only mostly works. The game could aim for demographics right down the middle and please both because the video game market DOES like games between the two extremes.
On the other hand I could be dead wrong. TLOU does have some themes the Academy Awards crowd will eat right up.
