If N64 would have had CDs, companies like Konami, Capcom, Enix and Square all likely would have stuck with Nintendo, and thus major games like FF7, Metal Gear Solid, Mega Man X 4, DQ7, Parasite Eve, Symphony of the Night, etc., would likely have been on N64 instead of Playstation. Or at least been multiplat.
Bottom line, if N64 had CD format, they likely would have won that gen.
