Do you know why he got addicted to begin with? He had back surgery that went south. Do we judge other people who abuse painkillers to deal with chronic pain due to a botched surgery? I don't think that many people do.

I didn't make a moral judgment about his condition. He's a drug addict. If you think that has a negative moral connotation then that's your deal. The chronic painkillers he was abusing are like pharmaceutical herioin. It all works on the chemicals in the brain.
