You mean like Superman?, Wonder Woman? The Flash? Green Arrow? Green Lantern? yeah, a lot of unknown characters and I am sure no one cares about them either.

Superman isn't an unknown character that nobody cares about.  The guy said he wants them to make games about the lesser known characters.  If you are WB and you can make one super hero game every 2 or 3 years are you seriously going to make a AAA game about a guy that runs fast?
