I can't believe Nintendo will ignore its fanbase yet again and go for some art style nobody asked for, just because they wanted to take an easier route with something simpler than full on realistic...

I think doing a more realistic game would actually be the easier route. Less creativity in the art style, less creativity in the game world...

But more demanding on the hardware. So a higher need to optimize the code.
