So, are you suggesting that the figures on VG should already be 6 million? That sentence is open to a few interpretations but you could be right.

no. PS4 have now surprased 6 million. following the successful launch in japan over a week. the over a week was reffering to Japans launch. the now was reffering to the date the PS4 passed 6 million. 

But there is room for interpretation there. The 'Now' could refer directly to 'surpassed' (none specific number) because they don't know how many sold in the last week. The 6 million could be as of the 23rd.
