I have to point out that during week 2 it was still quite easy to find machines in Japan.
When I went around on Monday 2/24, not a single store was sold out. I also looked at a variety of stores on Friday, 2/28 and more stores were sold out, particularly of the camera bundle. In general though, a majority of stores had plenty of machines on 2/28.
