Is he saying that Platinum's business situation didn't change when Sega decided they didn't want to spend money on anything that wasn't Sonic or Aliens anymore? I can understand how it must be incredibly frustrating to have the media thumping on the same stupid things (like the Bayonetta 2 Wii U "controversy") and cherry picking quotes, but this seems like a strange thing to get sassy about.

It could make it sound like Platinum themselves was in a weaker position than they are.

It will be interesting to see who they get work from going forward, though. W101 was a disaster, and while Bayonetta might do better (it will sell better than W101 for sure, but to what degree. If Nintendo calls them back, it'll be to farm their IPs (which would be a good thing indeed, c'mon StarFox). But how much original work is Platinum going to get from anyone after this point? And that, of course, defeats the point of Platinum founders leaving Capcom to do independent work.
